Ujjal Chatterjee’s upcoming film “Swabhoomi “is based on a novel Adhoba by eminent Bengali writer Mahashweta Devi. A press conference on the film was recently held at the Press Club. The real life persons on the basis of whose lives the characters of the film has been sketched were also present at the venue. Nayantara Devi the woman who vehemently protested against the alleged atrocities on the villagers regarding the Singur Issue and Shyamali Pramanick whose husband was murdered brutally were present at the press meet. Apart from them, director Ujjal Chatterjee along his wife Sagarika, Dimpy Mahajan, Debsree Roy and Sonika Singh Bhatti, one of the producers were also present at the press meet.
